Chemin De Fer Moudania Brousse
The Chemin de Fer Moudania Brousse, (English:''Mudanya Bursa Railway''), (Turkish:''Mudanya Bursa Demiryolu''), or CFMB was a long railway line from the port of Mudanya to Bursa. History On August 14, 1871, the Ottoman Government started to build a line from the port city of Mudanya to the inland city of Bursa. During construction, the line was sold to two French investors in 1874. The railway reached Bursa and was finished in 1875. The railway was to be continued to Bozüyük where it would connect with the CFOA line, but the tracks were never laid. On January 2, 1891 Georges Nagelmackers paid £27,000 for the rail line. In 1932 the Turkish State Railways (TCDD) bought the line. The railway was not very profitable, so in 1948, TCDD abandoned the line. Bursaray The Bursaray light rail system started operating in 2002 as an urban transit option. Although one of its lines follow approximately the same route, Bursaray does not go as far as Mudanya. Mudanya
Mudanya (Mudania, el, τα Μουδανιά, ''ta Moudaniá'' l. (the site of ancient Apamea Myrlea) is a town and district of Bursa Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. It is located on the Gulf of Gemlik, part of the southern coast of the Sea of Marmara. As of 1911, it was connected with Bursa by the Mudanya–Bursa railway and a carriage road, and with Istanbul by steamers. Mudanya has only an open anchorage usable in calm weather. The town produces olive oil and there is a pier used by local fishing and cargo boats. History According to the Ottoman General Census of 1881/82-1893, the kaza of Mudanya had a total population of 16.683, consisting of 11.792 Greeks and 4.891 Muslims. Bursaray (sometimes stylized as ''BursaRay'') is a rapid transit system in the city of Bursa, Marmara Region, Turkey, built in 2000 by TÜVASAŞ, and operated by Burulaş. The name ''Bursaray'' is a portmanteau of ''Bursa'', and ''Ray'', the Turkish word for "rail". The Bursaray metro opened for passenger service on 24 April 2002. The metro system presently consists of two lines, which share a main line in the east, and branch into two lines at the western end of the system. Bozüyük is a town and district of Bilecik Province in the Marmara region of Turkey. Features Bozüyük is the biggest town in Bilecik Province.
