''Cheers'' is a Japanese-language studio album from South Korean singer Lee Hong-gi, the main singer of the band F.T. Island. It was released on December 5, 2018, by Warner Music Japan. The album includes Japanese versions of three songs that were previously released in Lee Hong-gi's Korean-language album '' Do n Do''. Background and release On September 27, 2018, Lee Hong-gi announced that his upcoming album ''Cheers'' will be released on December 5, 2018. The album is supposed to have a positive message, with a theme of challenging new things and pushing forward without fear. Lee Hong-gi (; born March 2, 1990), also known mononymously as Hongki, is a South Korean singer, actor, and media personality. He is best known as the front man of rock band F.T. Island. In 2015, Lee debuted as a solo artist with the releases of his first Korean extended play '' FM302'' and his first Japanese album, '' AM302''. As an actor, Lee started his career by starring in children drama ''Magic Kid Masuri'' (2002). He later successfully transitioned to adult role and participated in various television dramas, notably '' ''You're Beautiful'''' (2009) and ''A Korean Odyssey'' (2017). Acting career Before Lee Hong-gi debuted as a singer with the band F.T. A lead single (also known as a debut single) is the first single to be released from a studio album by an artist or a band, usually before the album itself is released and also occasionally on the same day of the album's release date. ''Produce 48'' () was the third season of the South Korean reality competition series ''Produce 101''. It was a large-scale project in which the public "produces" a girl group by voting for members out of a pool of 96 contestants from South Korea and Japan, as well as voting for the group's concept, name and debut single. The show was a collaboration between the Mnet series ''Produce 101'' and the J-pop idol group AKB48. The winning 12 contestants, with no nationality caps, as voted only by Korean viewers, would promote as a group for two years and six months. The program itself is primarily in Korean, however staff and trainer instructions were translated onsite by interpreters. Jung Il-hoon (; born October 4, 1994), simply known as Ilhoon, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, record producer, host, actor and entertainer. He was the main rapper of the South Korean boy band BtoB. He is well known for his collaborations with artists such as Hyuna and G.NA, as well for being an assistant MC on the variety show ''Weekly Idol''. Kim Eun-young (born May 25, 1990), known by her stage name Cheetah (), is a South Korean rapper. Cheetah rose to fame as the winner on the TV competition ''Unpretty Rapstar''. She debuted in 2010 with the song "Stop (Money Can't Buy Me Love)" as a part of the duo Blacklist and was signed under C9 Entertainment. In April 2020, she left C9 Entertainment, which she belonged to from her debut, and founded the one-person agency, Ceuda Entertainment.
