Undercover are an English dance music group which formed in 1991 and had three UK top-30 hits, two of them top-five hits, in 1992. The group's vocalist, John Matthews, continues to perform solo as Undercover across the UK/Europe and South America. Keyboardist Steve Mac went on to become a successful songwriter and music producer for many other artists. Bassist Jon Jules went on to success in the UK soul music scene as a DJ, radio presenter and event organiser. "How Long" is the debut single by the English band Ace, from their 1974 debut album ''Five-A-Side''. It reached No. 3 in the US and Canadian charts, and No. 20 on the UK Singles Chart. In a 1981 issue of ''Smash Hits'', Phil Collins named the song as one of his top 10 favourites, describing it as a "classic single". Background Although widely interpreted as being about adultery, the song was in fact composed by lead singer Paul Carrack upon discovering that bassist Terry ("Tex") Comer had been secretly working with the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. Guy Jeffrey Barker, (born 26 December 1957) is an English jazz trumpeter and composer. Early life Barker was born in Chiswick, London, the son of an actress and a stuntman. He started playing the trumpet at the age of twelve, and within a year had joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. At the age of 15 he was playing with the Crouch End Allstars along with Wally Fawkes and Bob Nadkarni. Later life and career After lessons from Clark Terry in 1975, Barker went on in the 1980s to play with John Dankworth, Gil Evans (with whose orchestra he toured and recorded in 1983), Lena Horne, and Bobby Watson. Tracy Ackerman is a British singer and songwriter. She works with several other British songwriters including Andy Watkins and Paul Wilson of Absolute and Mark Taylor. Bernard Joseph "Benny" Gallagher (born 10 June 1945, in Largs, Ayrshire) is a Scottish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, most famous as half of the popular duo Gallagher and Lyle.
