Cheb–Hranice v Čechách railway is the number 148 railway of the Czech Republic, which is partially railway electrification system, electrified at . Hazlov (german: Haslau) is a municipality and village in Cheb District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,500 inhabitants. Administrative parts The villages of Lipná, Polná, Skalka, Vlastislav and Výhledy are administrative parts of Hazlov. Etymology The initial German name of the settlement was Haselach. The name was derived from the German word ''Hasel'' (i.e 'hazel') and the suffix ''-ach'', denoting a stream. So it was originally the name of a stream flowing between hazel bushes, which was transferred to the settlement. The name soon evolved to ''Hasla'' and in the 18th century to ''Haslau''. Františkovy Lázně (; german: Franzensbad) is a spa town in Cheb District in the Karlovy Vary Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,800 inhabitants. Together with neighboring Karlovy Vary and Mariánské Lázně, it is part of the West Bohemian Spa Triangle. The town center is well preserved and since 1992 has been protected as an urban monument reservation.
