Chaudhary Darshan Lal
Chaudhary Darshan Lal is an Indian politician from the state of Punjab. Lal represents the Balachaur Assembly constituency of Punjab and is a member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly (2017–2022). Family The son of Ram Chand, he was born 6 April 1950 in the village of Mangupur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, Punjab. He has three sons. Political career He contested as a candidate of Peoples Party of Punjab in the Assembly election 2012 from constituency Balachaur and got approximately 19000 votes. He served as sarpanch of village Mangupur for two terms i.e. 10 years (1992-2002). He was elected to the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections in 2017 from Balachaur. Punjab Legislative Assembly
The Punjab Legislative Assembly or the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is the unicameral legislature of the state of Punjab in India. The Sixteenth Punjab Legislative Assembly was constituted in March 2022. At present, it consists of 117 members, directly elected from 117 single-seat constituencies. The tenure of the Legislative Assembly is five years unless dissolved sooner. The Speaker of the sixteenth assembly is Kultar Singh Sandhwan. The meeting place of the Legislative Assembly since 6 March 1961 is the ''Vidhan Bhavan'' in Chandigarh. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar District
Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district is one of twenty-three districts of state of Punjab, India. It is located in Doaba region. It consists of three subdivisions, Nawanshahr, Banga, and Balachaur. There are three legislative seats in the district, Nawanshahr, Balachaur and Banga. They fall under the Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha Constituency.
