The ''chhatra'' (from sa, छत्र, meaning "umbrella") "jewelled/precious parasol" is an auspicious symbol in Hinduism, Jainism and Buddhism. Chatchai Sasakul ( th, ฉัตรชัย สาสะกุล; ; born February 5, 1970) is a Thai former professional boxer who competed between 1991 to 2008. He held the WBC flyweight title from May 1997 to December 1998. Chatchai-decha Butdee ( th, ฉัตร์ชัยเดชา บุตรดี, , ), formerly Chatchai Butdee (, , ; born 26 March 1985), is a Thai boxer who won a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the flyweight, but was defeated in his second bout. Chatchai Plengpanich ( th, ฉัตรชัย เปล่งพานิช; born January 17, 1960) is a Thai film and television actor. He has appeared in many lakorns (Thai soap operas) and feature films. Biography Chatchai was born in Kanchanaburi Province. Having a police officer as a father meant that the family relocated around Thailand constantly throughout his childhood. He attended a prestigious boarding school in Nakhon Pathom (King's College), where he found his passion for rugby. Chatchai Budprom ( th, ฉัตรชัย บุตรพรม, born February 4, 1987) is a Thai professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Thai League 1 club BG Pathum United and the Thailand national team. Chatichai Choonhavan ( th, ชาติชาย ชุณหะวัณ, , ; 5 April 1920 – 6 May 1998) was a Thai army officer, diplomat and politician. From 1986 to 1991, he was the chairman of the Thai Nation Party and served as the Prime Minister of Thailand from August 1988 until the coup d'état of February 1991. Family Chatichai was the only son of Field Marshal Phin Choonhavan and ''Khunying'' Wibunlak Choonhavan. He was of Thai Chinese descent with ancestry from Chenghai District of Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China.
