Chasing Girls
''Chasing Girls'' (Chinese: 追女仔) is a 1981 Hong Kong romantic comedy film directed by Karl Maka and starring Dean Shek, Flora Cheong-Leen, Nancy Lau and Eric Tsang. It was the second film produced by Cinema City, a film company established by Shek, producer/director Maka and screenwriter Raymond Wong. Plot Robert fails school while studying abroad in America, because he spent too much time flirting with American girls and not enough time studying. Robert's mother, angry that her son has failed school, sends him back to Hong Kong to live with his aunt in hopes that he will marry a Chinese girl. Returning to Hong Kong does not change Robert; he continues to spend all day flirting. His average-looking younger cousin, Ko Lo-chuen, wants to date a film star, Lam Siu-ha. Karl Maka
Karl Maka (born 29 February 1944) is a Hong Kong film producer, director, actor and presenter. Early life On 29 February 1944, Maka was born as Mak Kar-sheung in Taishan, China. In 1958, at age 14, Maka moved to Hong Kong. Education In 1969, Maka earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. Maka attended New York Institute of Photography. Career Maka started his career as an engineer at a telephone company. In 1976, Maka started his career in Hong Kong Films. Maka first appeared as an assassin in The Good, the Bad and the Loser, a 1976 film written and directed by him. In 1978, Maka co-founded Gar Bo, a film production company. In 1980, Maka founded Cinema City. Maka is credited with over 35 films as an actor, over 30 films as a producer, 7 films as a writer and 10 films as a director. Fung Fung
Fung Fung (; 1 December 1916 – 16 February 2000) was a veteran Hong Kong actor. He began his career as a leading man in 1946. An accident in 1949 left the left side of his face paralysed, but, while no longer able to attract leading roles, he enjoyed a long career as a character actor, appearing in films alongside such stars as Jackie Chan and Sammo Hung. He was the father of Fung Bo Bo, a child star of the 1960s, Alice Fung, a veteran actress, and Fung Hak-On, an actor known for playing villainous roles in several kung fu/action comedies of the 1970s and 1980s. Hong Kong Cinemagic, sometimes referred to as HKCinemagic, is a bilingual ( French and English) website providing a repository for information about Chinese language films from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and the people who created them.
