Chase Fine Arts Center
The Daryl Chase Fine Arts Center is a multi-venue visual and performing arts complex on the campus of Utah State University. It is named for Daryl Chase, the tenth president of USU, who served from 1954 to 1968. It houses performance venues such as the Kent Concert Hall, the Morgan Theatre, the Tippetts Balcony, the Black Box Studio Theatre, and the Tippetts Exhibit Hall. It also serves as the home of the Departments of Art, Music, Theatre, and Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning at USU, and contains numerous practice rooms, lecture halls, and offices. Logan, Utah
Logan is a city in Cache County, Utah, United States. The 2020 census recorded the population was 52,778. Logan is the county seat of Cache County and the principal city of the Logan metropolitan area, which includes Cache County and Franklin County, Idaho. Performance Hall (Utah State University)
The Manon Caine Russell Kathryn Caine Wanlass Performance Hall is a modern recital hall on the campus of Utah State University. The Performance Hall, by which name it is usually known, was a gift to USU from two alumni sisters in 2006. Since its opening, the Performance Hall has become widely known in the region for its architecture and acoustics. The building itself was designed by Boston firm Sasaki Associates with acoustics overseen by Artec Consultants. The building is said to have some of the best acoustics in the western United States. Great lengths were taken in construction to ensure sound quality, such as the suspension of all mechanical systems on pads or springs "to avoid the slightest vibration or extraneous sound." Cache Valley
Cache Valley is a valley of northern Utah and southeast Idaho, United States, that includes the Logan metropolitan area. The valley was used by 19th century mountain men and was the site of the 1863 Bear River Massacre. The name, Cache Valley is often used synonymously to describe the Logan Metropolitan Area, one of the fastest growing metro areas in the US per capita — both in terms of economic GDP and population. Craig D. Jessop (born 1949) is an American academic, musician and singer best known for his tenure as the music director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (Choir) from 1999 to 2008. Michael Lynn Ballam (born August 21, 1951) is an American opera singer, educator, and arts administrator. He is the founding general director of Utah Festival Opera and a professor of music at Utah State University. Thrust Theatre
In theatre, a thrust stage (also known as a platform stage or open stage) is one that extends into the audience on three sides and is connected to the backstage area by its upstage end. A thrust has the benefit of greater intimacy between performers and the audience than a proscenium, while retaining the utility of a backstage area.
