Charuymaq County
Charuymaq County ( fa, شهرستان چاراویماق) is in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Qarah Aghaj. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 33,921 in 6,396 households. The following census in 2011 counted 32,745 people in 8,202 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 31,071 in 9,016 households. Etymology According to Vladimir Minorsky, the name ''Chār-oymāq'' means "the four tribes" (from the Mongolian word ''aymaq'', meaning "tribe"). Until the mid-20th century, the Charuymaq district was known as Oryād or Uryād, after the Oirats, a Mongol tribe. According to the ''Ālam-ārā'', a tribe known as Uryād historically lived among (but was separate from) the Mukri Mohammed Umar Mukri (5 January 1922 – 4 September 2000), popularly known as Mukri, was an Indian actor, who worked as a comedian in Hindi films. Oirats ( mn, Ойрад, ''Oirad'', or , Oird; xal-RU, Өөрд; zh, 瓦剌; in the past, also Eleuths) are the westernmost group of the Mongols whose ancestral home is in the Altai region of Siberia, Xinjiang and western Mongolia. Mukriyan
Mukriyan () or 'Deryaz' was a Kurdish principality from the late 14th century to the 19th century centered around Mahabad. Mukriyan was a neighbor to the Emirate of Bradost. Geography and tribes Mukriyan encompassed the area south of Lake Urmia, including the cities of Mahabad, Piranshahr, Oshnaviyeh, Sardasht and Bukan with the city of Naqadeh historically being included in Mukriyan, though today make up approximately 35% of the city. Vladimir Fyodorovich Minorsky (russian: Владимир Фёдорович Минорский;  – March 25, 1966) was a Russian Orientalist best known for his contributions to the study of Persian, Lurish and Kurdish history, geography, literature, and culture. Life and career Minorsky was born in Korcheva, Tver Governorate, northwest of Moscow on the upper Volga River, a town now submerged beneath the Ivankovo Reservoir. There he was a gold medallist of the Fourth Grammar School.
