Charubala Tondaiman
Rani Sarubala Rajammani Ayi Sahib (born 7 October 1958), popularly known as Mayor Sarubala thondaiman , is an Indian politician and member of the royal house of Pudukkottai. She is the Organising Secretary of AMMK. She was elected for mayor of Tiruchirappalli City Corporation two times (2001,2005), was the President of Trichy Unit Tamil Maanila Congress for a brief time. She quit the Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) and joined the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam ( AIADMK) on 15 September 2016. Later, she sided with RK Nagar MLA Dhinakaran to become a higher office holder in the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam. Shooting Sarubala was a keen rifle shooter in her early days. She is the current treasurer of Royal Pudukottai Sports Club. Pudukkottai State
Pudukkottai was a kingdom and later a princely state in British India, which existed from 1680 until 1948. The Kingdom of Pudukkottai was founded in about 1680 as a feudatory of Ramnad and grew with subsequent additions from Tanjore, Sivaganga and Ramnad. One of the staunch allies of the British East India Company in the Carnatic, Anglo-Mysore and Polygar wars, the kingdom was brought under the Company's protection in 1800 as per the system of Subsidiary Alliance. The state was placed under the control of the Madras Presidency from 1800 until 1 October 1923, when the Madras States Agency was abolished, and until 1948 it was under the political control of the Government of India. Pudukkottai State covered a total area of and had a population of 438,648 in 1941. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (; AIADMK) is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry.
