Charra, South Australia
Charra is a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located on the state's west coast overlooking the Great Australian Bight about north-west of the state capital of Adelaide and about west of the municipal seat of Ceduna. Charra consists of land in the cadastral units of the hundreds of Horn in the west and Bartlett in the east. The name Charra was first used in 1864 in the name of a pastoral lease known as the “Charra Run” which was held by Messrs. R.B. Smith and W.R. Swan. A government town of the same name was proclaimed on 19 September 1889 and on 16 May 1929 was proclaimed as "ceased to exist". The name was later given to a railway station on the Penong branch of the Eyre Peninsula Railway which is located within the present locality. The name was given to the locality were created in January 1999 and whose boundaries include the ceased government town. Charra Airfield
Chharra Airfield is an abandoned military airfield in Purulia, West Bengal, India, which was built in 1942 and was used until 1945, used during World War II. It was a part of the Twentieth Air Force and the Tenth Air Force of the Royal Indian Air Force (RIAF), and was the bases of 677th Bomb Squadron, or what was called as the ''"Round Robin Rosie"'', and the 444th Bombardment Squadron, both of RIAF. It is located north-east from the city centre. Charro has several meanings, but it generally refers to Mexican horse riders, who maintain traditional dress, such as some form of sombrero, which in Mexican Spanish are called ''sombrero de charro'' (a charro's hat).
