Charlotte Esau (born July 29, 1961) is an American politician serving as the Kansas State Representative for the 14th district since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, her district is located in the center of Johnson County and currently covers north central Olathe and most of central Lenexa; after redistricting for population changes from the 2020 Census, it will cover the north central and northwestern part of Olathe. Olathe ( ) is the county seat of Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is the fourth-most populous city in both the Kansas City metropolitan area and the state of Kansas, with a 2020 population of 141,290. History 19th century Olathe was founded by John T. Barton in the spring of 1857. He rode to the center of Johnson County, and staked two quarter sections of land as the town site. He later described his ride to friends: "...the prairie was covered with verbena and other wild flowers. I kept thinking the land was beautiful and that I should name the town Beautiful." Lenexa is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States. It is one of four principal cities of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and 9th most populated city of Kansas.
