Charlotta Roos
Charlotta Roos, née Wrangel (1771-1809) was a Swedish medium. She was the daughter of the lieutenant and noble Henrik Herman Wrangel and Fredrika Philp. In 1791, she married the rich brewer and Swedenborgianist Sven Roos (1746-1798), in and in 1803, she married her cousin, lieutenant Wilhelm Philp (1777-1808). Roos had a reputation for being able to predict the future, which was fashionable during the reign of Gustav III of Sweden, and she made some predictions which attracted attention. In 1791, she predicted misfortune to King Gustav III, something he reportedly referred to on his death bed after the assassination by Jacob Johan Anckarström in 1792.Carl Forsstrand (1913). Mediumship
Mediumship is the practice of purportedly mediating communication between familiar spirits or ghost, spirits of the dead and living human beings. Practitioners are known as "mediums" or "spirit mediums". There are different types of mediumship or spirit conduit (channeling), channelling, including table-turning, séance tables, trance, and ouija. Belief in psychic ability is widespread despite the absence of objective evidence for its existence. Scientific researchers have attempted to ascertain the validity of claims of mediumship. An experiment undertaken by the British Psychological Society led to the conclusion that the test subjects demonstrated no mediumistic ability. Henrik Gustaf Ulfvenklou
Henrik Gustaf Ulfvenklou (1756–28 September 1819), was a Swedish mystic and medium who gained a great influence in the circles of Charles XIII of Sweden by claiming to communicate with the spirits of the dead. Lieutenant Ulfenklou arrived in Stockholm in 1783, where he made success in the esoteric circle around Duke Charles. He claimed he stood in contact with the duke's dead mother, Louisa Ulrika of Prussia, whose spirit he sent to observe Charles's brother the king, Gustav III of Sweden, who was in Italy at that time (1784). He sent a warning with a prediction to Gustav, which is said to have caused damage in the relationship between Charles and Gustav. Reuterholm disliked him and had him sent away, and when he returned in 1785, Reuterholm was to have "exposed" him to Charles. His public career then ended, but he continued to have influence over Charles through correspondence.
