Charlie West
Charlie West (born August 31, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas) is a former safety who played for three National Football League teams. He played in Super Bowl IV as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. He also still holds the University of Texas El Paso career record of 19 interceptions, including a school record four in one game. Today, he presently lives near New York City and coaches the Carmel High School football team in New York, serving as the defensive coordinator. West returned kicks and punts for the Minnesota Vikings, and still holds the team's record for longest punt return. Safety is a position in gridiron football on the American football positions#Defense, defense. The safeties are defensive backs who line up ten to fifteen yards from the line of scrimmage. There are two variations of the position: the free safety and the strong safety. Their duties depend on the defensive scheme. The defensive responsibilities of the safety and cornerback usually involve pass coverage towards the middle and sidelines of the field. Michael Edward Bragg (born September 26, 1946) is an American former professional football player who was a punter in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Colts.
