Charles Edward "Red" Phillips (May 10, 1917 – March 29, 2005) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman. He played 17 games in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens during the 1942–43 season. Charles Phillips (born November 22, 1952) is a former American football safety. Phillips was part of the Oakland Raiders team when they won Super Bowl XI in 1977. Professional career Phillips played in the National Football League (NFL) between 1975 and 1979. In 1978, which was arguably his best season, he led the NFL in non-offensive touchdowns with 3, fumble return touchdowns with 2 and he also led the NFL in fumble return yards with 127 yards. Charlie Phillips (footballer)
Cuthbert Phillips (23 June 1910 – 15 October 1969), known as Charlie Phillips, was a professional footballer who won 13 full caps for Wales. At club level, he scored 73 goals in 237 appearances in the Football League playing for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and Birmingham. Phillips was born in Victoria, Newport, which was then in Monmouthshire. He began his football career with Ebbw Vale before turning professional with Wolverhampton Wanderers of the Football League Second Division in 1929. He made his debut for the club on 15 March 1930 in a 1–1 home draw with Oldham Athletic, and went on to play 202 games in all competitions, scoring 65 goals. He contributed to the club's Second Division title in the 1931–32 season, and scored in the 4–2 victory over Everton in the last match of the following season, a game Wolves had to win to remain in the First Division. Ronald "Charlie" Phillips (born 22 November 1944), also known by the nickname "Smokey", is a Jamaican-born restaurateur, photographer, and documenter of black London. He is now best known for his photographs of Notting Hill during the period of West Indian migration to London; however, his subject matter has also included film stars and student protests, with his photographs having appeared in ''Stern'', ''Harper’s Bazaar'', ''Life'' and ''Vogue'' and in Italian and Swiss journals. His work has been exhibited at galleries including Tate Britain, Museum of London, Nottingham's New Art Exchange, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit and Museum of the City of New York, and is also in collections at The Wedge, London's Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A), as well as the Tate. Charlie Phillips (born July 2, 1937) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Phillips began singing for producer Norman Petty as a teenager, and had musical backing from Buddy Holly on some of his first recordings. Coral records released "One Faded Rose" and "Be My Bride". The B-side to "One Faded Rose" was "Sugartime", later a hit for the McGuire Sisters. Phillips later signed with Columbia Records. His first Columbia single, "I Guess I'll Never Learn", made number 9 on the Hot Country Songs charts.
