Charlie Hall (actor)
Charlie Hall (also credited Charley Hall; 19 August 1899 – 7 December 1959) was an English film actor. He is best known as the "Little Nemesis" of Laurel and Hardy. He performed in nearly 50 films with them, making Hall the most frequent supporting actor in the comedy duo's productions. Life and career Hall was born in Ward End, Birmingham, Warwickshire, and learned carpentry as a trade; however, as a teenager, he became a member of the Fred Karno troupe of stage comedians. In his late teens, he visited his sister in New York City and stayed there, finding employment as a stagehand. While working behind the scenes, he met the comic actor Bobby Dunn and they became friends; Dunn convinced Hall to take a stab again at acting, which he did. By the mid-1920s, Hall was working for Hal Roach. Stan Laurel, one of Roach's comedy stars, was also a graduate of the Karno troupe. Charles Eugene Hall III (born May 30, 1973) is a contemporary worship music leader and songwriter from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is a member of a group of musicians and speakers that collectively form the Passion movement. Career Hall is a pastor of worship arts and liturgy at Frontline Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Charles Val Hall Jr. (March 31, 1948 – May 14, 1998) was a National Football League defensive back who played his entire career for the Green Bay Packers. Hall was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he attended Lower Merion High School. He played football at Lower Merion, where he set various records, including rushing for 250 yards in a game, scoring 5 touchdowns in a game and average 8.6 yards per rush over an entire season. After high school, he attended the University of Pittsburgh where he played for the Pittsburgh Panthers football team. Going into college, Hall started as a halfback on offense but was moved during his first year to defensive back because of a shortage of players at that position. During his second year, he became a starter, a position he would not relinquish for the rest of his college career. Charles Albert Hall Jr. (May 7, 1930 – November 20, 2014) was an American firefighter, labor activist, and politician who served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1980 to 1982. Charles Louis Hall (July 27, 1884 – December 6, 1943) was an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Detroit Tigers. He pitched in 118 games totalling 909.2 innings. He had 427 strikeouts, a 3.09 earned run average (ERA), and 3 shutouts. He started 81 games. As a hitter, Hall was a better than average hitting pitcher, posting a .197 batting average (73-for-371) with 32 runs, 2 home runs, 40 RBIs and 17 bases on balls.
