Charlie Daniels
Charles Edward Daniels (October 28, 1936 – July 6, 2020) was an American singer, musician, and songwriter. His music fused rock, country, blues and jazz, pioneering Southern rock. He was best known for his number-one country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Much of his output, including all but one of his eight ''Billboard'' Hot 100 charting singles, was credited to the Charlie Daniels Band. Daniels was active as a singer and musician from the 1950s until his death. He was inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame in 2002, the Grand Ole Opry in 2008, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009, and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Charlie Daniels (baseball)
Charles L. Daniels (July 1, 1861 – February 9, 1938) was briefly a Major League Baseball pitcher who played in with the Boston Reds. He debuted on 18 April and strikeout a record 11 batters in a match against Philadelphia's Enoch Bakley. Daniels played a game in the outfield in addition to his two hurling losses. After a 7–6 lose to Washington's Milo Lockwood, Daniels was dropped. He then briefly played a few innings with Lawrence of the Massachusetts State Association before leaving pro ball. Charlie Daniels (born December 7, 1939) is an American Democratic Party politician from Arkansas. He was the State Auditor of Arkansas from 2011 to 2015 and previously served as Arkansas Secretary of State, and as Commissioner of State Lands. Early life and education Charlie Daniels was born in the Union County, Arkansas community of Parkers Chapel, and grew up in El Dorado, Arkansas. He served in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserve. Daniels attended Southern Arkansas University, and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He began his political career as a member of the Parker's Chapel school board from 1972 to 1974. From 1974 to 1980, he served as Director of the Arkansas Department of Labor in the Cabinet of Governor David Pryor until 1979, and was retained in that post for another year under Governor Bill Clinton. Charlie Daniels (footballer)
Charles John Daniels (born 7 September 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Starting his career at Tottenham Hotspur, he experienced a number of loans before joining Leyton Orient. In 2012, he was signed by AFC Bournemouth, where he experienced promotion from League One and the Championship, staying with the club for the duration of the first spell in the Premier League. He finished his career with spells at Shrewsbury Town, Portsmouth and Colchester United. He is currently under 18s coach at Watford. Career Early career Daniels was born in Harlow, Essex, and grew up in nearby Waltham Forest where he attended Highams Park School.
