Charlie Cullinane
Charles Cullinane (10 November 1943 – 21 July 2015) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward at senior level for the Cork county team. Cullinane joined the team during the 1968–69 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1970 championship. During that time he won one All-Ireland medal, two Munster medals and one National League medal. Cullinane was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. At club level Cullinane was a one-time All-Ireland medalist with St Finbarr's. In addition to this he has also won two Munster medals and three county club championship medals. Playing career Club Cullinane played his club hurling with St Finbarr's and had much success during a golden age for the club. St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club
St Finbarr's National Hurling & Football Club or St Finbarr's Hurling and Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Togher area of Cork city, County Cork, Ireland. St Finbarr's, who play in royal blue and gold jerseys, are the only club in Ireland to win All-Ireland club championships in both hurling and football. The club has won Cork County Senior Championships in every decade except the first decade of the 21st century. This record was almost upheld in 2009 when the club reached the final in the Cork County Senior Football Championship, only to lose out by a point to Clonakilty. The Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Co-Op Superstores Cork Premier Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Cork PSHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Cork County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs and amalgamated teams in the county of Cork in Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Cork hurling. Introduced in 1887 as the Cork Senior Hurling Championship, it was initially a straight knockout tournament open only to senior-ranking club teams, with its winner reckoned as the Cork county champion. Eddie O'Brien (hurler)
Eddie O'Brien (born 12 January 1945 in Passage West, County Cork) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Passage and with the Cork senior inter-county team in the 1960s and 1970s. Playing career Club O'Brien played his club hurling with his local club in Passage. He enjoyed some success at juvenile levels before moving onto the club’s top team. Passage played in the county intermediate championship and last won the title in 1960, prior to O'Brien's playing days. He played with the club's tp team throughout the 1960s and 1970s, however, he enjoyed little success apart from a city division senior football title in 1969. O'Brien was regarded as a better Gaelic footballer than a hurler and is considered to be Passage's greatest ever footballer. Pat Delaney (Kilkenny Hurler)
Patrick "Pat" Delaney (1942 – 19 August 2013) was an Irish hurler who played as a centre-forward for the Kilkenny senior team. Born in Johnstown, County Kilkenny, Delaney first arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty-six when he first linked up with the Kilkenny senior team, making his debut in the 1968 championship. Delaney went on to play a key part for Kilkenny in what has come to be known as one of the greatest teams of all-time, and won four All-Ireland medals, six Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. An All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions, Delaney also captained the team to All-Ireland defeat in 1973. Justin McCarthy (hurler)
Justin J. McCarthy (born 1945 in Passage West, County Cork) is an Irish former hurling manager and former player, who took over as manager of the Limerick senior inter-county team in October 2008. He played hurling with his local club Passage and with the Cork senior inter-county team in the 1960s and 1970s. As a player McCarthy was involved with the Cork team of the late 1960s. In a senior inter-county career that lasted from 1964 until 1974 he won one All-Ireland title, three Munster titles, two National Hurling League titles and two Railway Cup titles. Over the last four decades McCarthy has had some success as a manager with many different teams. In the 1970s he coached Antrim to an All-Ireland title at intermediate level before capturing back-to-back National Hurling League titles with Clare. Con Roche
Cornelius Roche (born 1946) is an Irish former hurler, manager and selector. He played for Cork Senior Championship club St Finbarr's and was a member of the Cork senior hurling team for ten years, during which time he usually lined out as a left wing-back. Roche began his hurling career at club level with St Finbarr's. He broke onto the club's top adult team as a 17-year-old in 1963 and had his first success two years later when the club won the 1965 Cork Championship, before claiming further titles in 1968, 1974 and 1977. The highlight of Roche's club career came in 1975 when he was at midfield on the All-Ireland Championship-winning team. At inter-county level, Roche was part of the successful Cork minor team that won the All-Ireland Championship in 1964 before later winning an All-Ireland Championship with the under-21 team in 1966.
