Charlie Allen (trumpeter)
Charlie J. Allen (September 25, 1908 – November 19, 1972) was an American jazz trumpeter. Early life Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Allen grew up in Chicago and began playing music after graduating from high school in 1925. Career Allen was a member of the bands of Hugh Swift (1925), Dave Peyton (1927), Doc Cook (1927), Clifford King (1928), and Johnny Long (musician), Johnny Long. Allen worked with Earl Hines from 1931 to 1934, then did a short stint in Duke Ellington's orchestra in 1935, though he never recorded any solos with Ellington. He played with Fletcher Butler in 1936 and then returned to play with Hines again in 1937. Allen played in various groups in Chicago in the 1940s and 1950s. Later in his life he became a music educator, worked in the Chicago Musicians' Union, and designed custom trumpet mouthpieces (used by Cat Anderson, among others). References

Charles Christopher Allen (born August 1958) is a British designer. He is a third-generation tailor. Education Allen was educated at Highbury Grove School (under Rhodes Boyson) and at the Chelsea School of Art where he earned a diploma of art & design. At Chelsea School of Art, Allen specialised in painting and silk-screen printing Screen printing is a printing technique where a mesh is used to transfer ink (or dye) onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil. A blade or squeegee is moved across the screen to fill the open mesh .... In 1982, he graduated with a Master of Art in Menswear Design from the Royal College of Art since when he has been practising, in varying forms, as a tailor and designer. Charles E. Allen (May 1, 1942 – May 7, 1990) was one of the founding members of blues and rock outfit Pacific Gas & Electric and the vocalist for the group. By 1968, the group consisted of Charlie Allen, Frank Cook, Tom Marshall, Brent Block, and guitarist Glenn Schwartz. Besides being remembered for his association with Pacific Gas & Electric, Allen is perhaps best remembered for the hit single " Are You Ready?" that he co-wrote with John Hill which besides being a hit for Pacific Gas & Electric has been covered by The Staple Singers, and DeGarmo and Key. Band Pacific Gas & Electric Allen was originally the drummer for the Pacific Gas And Electric Blues Band. His vocal abilities meant that he was destined to be the band's frontman so he was placed up front and Frank Cook, the former drummer for Canned Heat, became the drummer. Charlie Allen (born 24 March 1992) is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Isthmian League club Cray Wanderers. Playing career Allen began his career at Brentford joining the club in 2006 from Reading, whilst his father was first-team manager at Griffin Park. Allen progressed into the youth team but was not offered a professional contract at the end of his two-year scholarship. During the summer he spent sometime at a Swedish fourth division club Ånge IF. After that Allen joined Dagenham & Redbridge youth academy, playing for Billericay Town on dual-registration, before signing at Notts County for the start of the 2011–12 season. He made his debut in a 2–0 defeat to Preston North End at Deepdale on 27 August 2011, before he was replaced by Alan Judge after 67 minutes. Charlie Steven Allen (born 22 November 2003) is a Northern Irish footballer who plays as a midfielder or forward for Leeds United and Northern Ireland U17's. Club career Linfield Having progressed through the academy of local club Linfield, Allen made his senior debut for the club on 27 April 2019 in a 1–1 draw with Coleraine. The Bar-Kays are an American funk band formed in 1964. The band had dozens of charting singles from the 1960s to the 1980s, including "Soul Finger" (US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 number 17, R&B number 3) in 1967, "Son of Shaft" (R&B number 10) in 1972, and "Boogie Body Land" (R&B number 7) in 1980.
