Charley Horton
Charles "Charley" Horton is a former American football halfback who played one season with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL) with the eleventh overall pick of the 1956 NFL Draft. He played college football at Vanderbilt University and attended St. Petersburg High School in St. Petersburg, Florida. Early years Horton played high school football for the St. Petersburg High School Green Devils. He was named Honorable mention All-State and played in the Florida All-Star high school football game. He also participated in track and field and was a Florida high hurdle state champion. He was inducted into the St. Petersburg High School Athletic Hall of fame in 1999. The Vanderbilt Commodores football program represents Vanderbilt University in the sport of American football. The Commodores compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the East Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Chicago College All-Star Game
The Chicago Charities College All-Star Game was a preseason American football game played from 1934 to 1976 between the National Football League (NFL) champions and a team of star college seniors from the previous year. It was also known as the College All-Star Football Classic. The game was contested annually — except for 1974, due to that year's NFL strike — and was played in July, August, or September. In the 42 College All-Star Games, the defending pro champions won 31, the All-Stars won nine, and two were ties, giving the collegians a .238 winning percentage. The 1987 Fiesta Bowl was a college football bowl game that served as the final game of the 1986 NCAA Division I-A football season. In gridiron football, an official is a person who has responsibility in enforcing the rules and maintaining the order of the game. During professional and most college football games, seven officials operate on the field. Since 2015, Division I college football conferences have used eight game officials, the Alliance of American Football (AAF) in its only season in 2019 and the 2020 version of the XFL have used eight game officials.
