Charley Frazier
Charles Douglas Frazier (August 12, 1939 – August 16, 2022) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for nine seasons in the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Houston Oilers and Boston Patriots from 1962 to 1970. Frazier was an AFL All-Star in 1966. Early life Frazier was born in Houston on August 12, 1939. He attended Marshall High School in nearby Angleton, Texas. He then studied at Texas Southern University, where he starred for the Texas Southern Tigers on its track and field team. He was teammates with future New York Giants receiver Homer Jones. Frazier ran the 100-yard dash in 9.4 seconds and 220 yards in 20.8 seconds. Larry Carwell
Larry Carwell (August 5, 1944 – January 10, 1984) was an American college and professional football player. A cornerback, he played college football at Iowa State University, and played professionally in the American Football League (AFL) for the Houston Oilers in 1967 and 1968 and the Boston Patriots in 1969. He continued to play for the NFL Boston Patriots and later the NFL New England Patriots from 1970 through 1972. In 1984, he was a United States Drug Enforcement Administration officer working to stop the flow of marijuana and cocaine into the United States from Latin America. While aboard a U.S. helicopter bound for the Bahamas, he was one of five missing persons lost at sea when the helicopter crashed. Ronnie Caveness
Ronald Glen Caveness (March 6, 1943 – May 10, 2014) was an American football linebacker for the American Football League's Houston Oilers and Kansas City Chiefs from 1965 to 1968. Caveness played college football for the University of Arkansas where he was a ''Football News'' first-team All-American in 1963. In his senior season in 1964, he was selected first-team All-America by the American Football Coaches Association, the Associated Press, the Football Writers Association of America, the Newspaper Enterprise Association and ''The Sporting News''. Caveness led the Razorbacks to an undefeated season in 1964 (11-0), winning the Southwest Conference championship, and defeated Nebraska in the 1965 Cotton Bowl, 10–7. Sidney Blanks (April 29, 1941 – December 12, 2021) was an American football player and the first-ever African American football player to play in the Lone Star Conference. College career A halfback, Blanks played college football at Texas A&I University. Blanks was an All-American member of the Texas A&I Javelinas from 1960 to 1963. He was inducted into the Texas A&I Hall of Fame in 1981. In 2002 he was inducted into the Lone Star Conference Hall of Fame. Recruited by College Football Hall of Fame coach Gil Steinke in 1960, Blanks was the first African American to play in the Lone Star Conference. Vito "Babe" Parilli (May 7, 1930 – July 15, 2017) was an American football quarterback and coach who played professionally for 18 seasons. Parilli spent five seasons in the National Football League (NFL), three in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and 10 in the American Football League (AFL). He played college football at Kentucky, where he twice received consensus All-American honors and won two consecutive bowl games. Lance Dwight Alworth (born August 3, 1940), nicknamed “Bambi”, is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for the San Diego Chargers of the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL) and Dallas Cowboys of the NFL. Donald Dean Trull (born October 20, 1941) is a former American football quarterback in the American Football League. Trull played football collegiately at Baylor University, where he was an All-American and twice won the Sammy Baugh Trophy as the nation's top passer.
