Charles Stuart Gregson
Charles Stuart Gregson (29 May 1817 - 31 January 1899) was an English entomological collector who worked as a ship painter. He was considered a very industrious collector of specimens and named several species of moth. ''Agrotis spinifera ''Agrotis spinifera'', or Gregson's dart, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1808. Gregson was born in Lancaster and worked in Liverpool as a ship painter. He was an avid collector of moths and discovered many species new to Britain and a few new to science that he described. Agrotis Spinifera
''Agrotis spinifera'', or Gregson's dart, is a moth of the family Noctuidae. The species was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1808. It is found in southern Europe, Arabia to southern Africa, Madagascar, Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, India to Myanmar and Sri Lanka. Description The wingspan is 32–34 mm. It differs from ''Agrotis segetum ''Agrotis segetum'', sometimes known as the turnip moth, is a moth of the family Noctuidae.
