Charles F
Charles is a masculine given name predominantly found in English and French speaking countries. It is from the French form ''Charles'' of the Proto-Germanic name (in runic alphabet) or ''*karilaz'' (in Latin alphabet), whose meaning was "free man". The Old English descendant of this word was '' Ċearl'' or ''Ċeorl'', as the name of King Cearl of Mercia, that disappeared after the Norman conquest of England. The name was notably borne by Charlemagne (Charles the Great), and was at the time Latinized as ''Karolus'' (as in ''Vita Karoli Magni''), later also as '' Carolus''. Some Germanic languages, for example Dutch and German, have retained the word in two separate senses. In the particular case of Dutch, ''Karel'' refers to the given name, whereas the noun ''kerel'' means "a bloke, fellow, man". Etymology The name's etymology is a Common Germanic noun ''*karilaz'' meaning "free man", which survives in English as churl (< Old English ''ċeorl''), which developed its depr ...

Charles Stevens (pastor)
Charles Hadley Stevens (January 10, 1892 – July 16, 1982) was a pastor and founder/President of Piedmont Bible College (now Carolina University). Childhood Stevens was born on January 10, 1892, to David Samuel and Mary Holt Stevens. Wilson's Mill, North Carolina, was their home until his family moved to Durham, North Carolina, when he was three and two years later to Greensboro, North Carolina. Before his eighth birthday, Charles found himself hard at work in a textile mill to help supplement his family's income. It was during this time that Mary Stevens, Charles' mother, died. His mother was spiritually instrumental in those early years of his life. She read Foster's Story of the Bible to her children. Charles later said that he "believed God called him into the ministry when he was three years old," in part, due to these readings. However, he did not have a "definite conversion experience" until several years later. A year after his mother's death David Stevens once ...

Charles Stevens (actor)
Charles Stevens (May 26, 1893 – August 22, 1964) was an American actor. He appeared in nearly 200 films between 1915 and 1961. A close friend of actor Douglas Fairbanks, Stevens appeared in nearly all of Fairbanks' films. Early years Stevens was born in Solomonville, Arizona, and his father was a white Arizona sheriff named George Stevens and mother a Mexican woman named Eloisa Michelena. Stevens was not, as many bios claim, the grandson of Geronimo. That erroneous information could be attributed to Stevens himself, who claimed such kinship, and film studios that promoted the supposed lineage. Career Stevens began his career during the silent era, playing mostly Native Americans and Mexicans in Westerns. During the 1930s and 1940s, he had roles in the film serials ''Wild West Days'' and ''Overland Mail''. In the 1950s, Stevens guest-starred on several television series, including ''The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok'', ''The Adventures of Kit Carson'', ''Sky King'', ''The ...
