Charles Philibert-Thiboutot
Charles Philibert-Thiboutot (born 31 December 1990) is a Canadian middle-distance runner. He competed in the 1500 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics and at the 2016 Olympics, reaching semifinals on both occasions. He won a bronze medal in this event at the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2013 and 2015 Philibert-Thiboutot was selected as Canadian Interuniversity Sport Athlete of the Year. In 2022 he set a new Canadian record winning the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) men's 5K in a time of 13 minutes 35 seconds, breaking Paul Williams' time of 13:36 set in 1986. 2012 NACAC U23 Championships In Athletics
The 2012 NACAC Under-23 Championships in Athletics were held at the Centro Paralímpico Nacional in Irapuato, Mexico from 6 to 8 July. It was the seven edition of the biennial athletics competition for NACAC area athletes under 23 years of age. A total of 44 track and field events were contested, divided evenly between the sexes. It was the third time that Mexico had hosted the event, having done so in 2000 and 2008. Over 400 athletes from 23 nations competed at the championships. Eleven championship records were broken at the competition, with particularly strong performances in the sprint events. Jason Rogers equalled the 100 metres record while Auriyall Scott improved the women's time. Athletics At The 2015 Pan American Games
Athletics competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto were held from July 19 to 26 at the newly built CIBC Pan Am and Parapan Am Athletics Stadium, located on the campus of York University. The racewalking and marathon events were held on the temporary circuits around the Ontario Place West Channel. The sport of athletics is split into distinct sets of events: track and field events, road running events, and racewalking events. Mirroring the Olympic athletics program, both men and women had very similar schedules of events. Men competed in 24 events and women in 23, as their schedule lacks the 50 km race walk. In addition, both the men's 110 m hurdles and decathlon are reflected in the women's schedule by the 100 m hurdles and heptathlon, respectively. Paul Williams (runner)
Paul Gregory Williams (born August 7, 1956) is a retired long-distance runner from Canada, who represented his native country at three consecutive Summer Olympics, starting in 1984. His best result was finishing in 21st place in the men's 10,000 metres at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Williams is a four-time national champion in the men's 5,000 metres. Career Williams was born in Ottawa, Ontario, the second son to Robert and Dorothy (Tait) Williams of Toronto.
