Charles Perry (Texas Politician)
Charles Perry is an American politician and accountant serving as a member of the Texas Senate from the 28th district. He assumed office on September 30, 2014. He was previously a member of the Texas House of Representatives for the 83rd district from 2010 to 2014. Early life and education Perry is a native of Lubbock, Texas. After graduating from Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater, Texas, Perry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting and management information systems from Texas Tech University. Career Outside of politics, Perry works as a Certified Public Accountant. He served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for the 83rd district from 2010 to 2014. During his tenure in the House, Perry served as vice chair of the Government Efficiency & Reform Committee and chair of the Agriculture, Water and Rural Affairs Committee. Sweetwater, Texas
Sweetwater is a municipality in and the seat of Nolan County, Texas, United States. It is 123 miles southeast of Lubbock and 40 miles west of Abilene, Texas. Its population was 10,906 at the 2010 census. History The town's name "Sweetwater" is the English translation of the Kiowa language word "Mobeetie". Sweetwater received a U.S. post office in 1879. The Texas and Pacific Railway started service in 1881, with the first train arriving on March 12 of that year, beginning Sweetwater's long history as a railroad town. To encourage the railroads, Sweetwater increased its water supply by building a small town lake called City Lake in 1898 (now called Newman Park), then three larger lakes were constructed thereafter. Construction began on the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway in 1903. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is the title of qualified accountants in numerous countries in the English-speaking world. Sweetwater High School is a public high school located in Sweetwater, Texas, USA and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Sweetwater Independent School District located in north central Nolan County. In 2015, the school was rated " Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency. From 1912 to 1967, Sweetwater's high school was called "Newman High School."
