Charles Oldham (naturalist)
Charles Oldham (16 April 1868 – 13 April 1942) was an English naturalist who was an expert on ornithology and malacology. Oldham was born in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, but grew up in Manchester, where his father, Richard Oldham, was a merchant. He was educated at Manchester Grammar School and followed a career with the Commercial Union Insurance Company first in Manchester and later in London until retirement in 1927. He spent his spare time on his passion for natural history and was a well-regarded field naturalist. Throughout his life he contributed notes and articles to journals and he was co-author of ''The Birds of Cheshire'' (1900) and ''A Practical Handbook of British Birds'' (1919–1924). At various times he was vice-president of the Linnean Society, the Ray Society, the British Ornithologists' Union (1936–38), the British Ecological Society and the Malacological Society. Charles Oldham (politician)
Charles Henry Oldham (20 November 1863 – 1935) was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia from 1897 to 1900, representing the seat of North Perth. Oldham was born in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England, and began working in a coal mine at the age of eleven. He later trained as a carpenter, and after finishing his apprenticeship worked as a journeyman. Oldham emigrated to Australia in 1889, living in Victoria for a period before going to Western Australia in 1892. Oldham worked as a carpenter, and in 1893 served as president of the Perth Trades and Labour Council. Charles Thomas Oldham
Charles Thomas Oldham, also known by his other professional name Tom Oldham and personally as Chaz Oldham, is a British actor, voiceover artist, screenwriter and film producer. Oldham was born in Gateshead, England, and spent his early years there, before his family moved south. They moved again, this time to Australia when he was 15; he opted to stay in the UK to finish his schooling, and moved in with the family next door, who were keen morris dancers. Oldham studied law at Cambridge University before working as an investment banker and entrepreneur. He gave up his career in banking to become an actor, graduating from drama school at 32. Working as Tom Oldham, he enjoyed some success as a voiceover artist and appeared in one episode of ''Heartbeat''.
