Charles N. Potter
Charles Nelson Potter (October 31, 1852 – December 20, 1927) was a justice of the Wyoming Supreme Court from January 7, 1895, to December 20, 1927. Born in Cooperstown, New York,Wyoming State Archives biography of Charles N. Potter, available at 2301 Central Ave, Cheyenne, WY 82001. Potter was raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received an LL.B. from the University of Michigan in 1873. Potter then entered the practice of law in Grand Rapids until 1876, when he relocated to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Potter become active in the Republican Party and influential in his legal practice, and in 1887, he entered into a successful law partnership with Willis Van Devanter.Timothy L. Lake View Cemetery is a Private property, privately owned, Nonprofit organization, nonprofit Rural cemetery, garden cemetery located in the cities of Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Cleveland Heights, and East Cleveland, Ohio, East Cleveland in the U.S. state of Ohio. Founded in 1869, the cemetery was favored by wealthy families during the Gilded Age, and today the cemetery is known for its numerous lavish funerary monuments and mausoleums. The extensive early monument building at Lake View helped give rise to the University Circle#Little Italy, Little Italy neighborhood, but over-expansion nearly bankrupted the burial ground in 1888. Financial recovery only began in 1893, and took several years. Lake View grew and modernized significantly from 1896 to 1915 under the leadership of president Henry R. Hatch.
