Charles Mathon
Charles Mathon, (Oyonnax, 1 December 1905 – assassinated during the World War II in Druillat, 9 June 1944), is a rugby union and an France national rugby league team, international rugby league player in the 1920s and 1930s. Kid of Oyonnax, He discovered the rugby union and played for Oyonnax Rugby, C.S. Oyonnax. During ten years, he was the scrum half of this club alongside his Captain (sports), captain Georges Ofidan. He settled into their half-backs with the latter from the age of 17 and took an active part in the success of the club which he led to integrate the elite of the Top 14, French Rugby Union Championship at the end of the 1920s. He tried a single season at Union Sportive Bressane, U.S. Bressane before returning to C.S. Oyonnax and closed his chapter in rugby union in 1934. Oyonnax () is the second most populated commune in the Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. Oyonnax lies in a valley of the Jura Mountains in the far north of Ain. Yves Frantz Loys Marie Le Pelley du Manoir, known as Yves du Manoir (August 11, 1904 - January 2, 1928) was a French rugby player. Du Manoir was born at Vaucresson, into an aristocratic family; his father and mother were Viscount and Viscountess Le Pelley. He excelled at tennis, rowing, swimming, gymnastics and running. He also liked motorcycles. But it was as a rugby player that he stood out. He joined Racing Club de France, a Paris club, as he lived in the prestigious Rue de Rennes in the centre of the city. He was a versatile back, a good kicker and an excellent tackler, who played generally as fly-half. He won his first cap for France at the age of 20 on January 1, 1925, at Colombes against Ireland.
