Charles L. Brown
Charles Lee Brown (August 23, 1921 – November 2003) was an American businessperson. Life and career Charles L. Brown was born on August 23, 1921, in Richmond. His father was a traffic manager, and his mother was a phone operator for AT&T. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Virginia and graduated with a degree in 1943. For a brief time, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Brown married Ann Lee Saunders Brown in 1959. Brown joined AT&T in 1946. Before becoming president of AT&T in 1977, he served as executive vice president from 1974 and as CEO of Illinois Bell. Between 1979 and 1986, he served as the chief executive officer of AT&T. Illinois Bell Telephone Company, LLC is the Bell Operating Company serving Illinois. It is owned by AT&T through AT&T Teleholdings, formerly Ameritech. Their headquarters are at 225 West Randolph St., Chicago, IL. After the 1984 Bell System Divestiture, Illinois Bell became a part of Ameritech, one of the 7 original Regional Bell Operating Companies. The Illinois Bell name continued to be used until January 1993, when Ameritech dropped all of their individual Bell Operating Company names in favor of using their corporate name, Ameritech, for marketing purposes. Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's disease (PD), or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The most obvious early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking. Cognitive and behavioral problems may also occur with depression, anxiety, and apathy occurring in many people with PD. Parkinson's disease dementia becomes common in the advanced stages of the disease. Those with Parkinson's can also have problems with their sleep and sensory systems. The motor symptoms of the disease result from the death of cells in the substantia nigra, a region of the midbrain, leading to a dopamine deficit.
