Charles Insco Williams
Charles Insco Williams (December 12, 1853 - February 13, 1923) was an artist and architect in Dayton, Ohio. Biography He was born on December 12, 1853, to Mary Forman and John Insco Williams. His father seems to have been an accomplished painter. At sixteen he moved with his parents to Cincinnati and graduated from the Chickering Institute of Cincinnati, Ohio in 1870. He received "formal training" at Troy Polytechnic School of New York. Williams was employed in 1873 as a civil engineer on the Northern Pacific Railroad. He later returned to Dayton and worked as an artist for seven years, and worked in his brother-in-law William H Best's jewellery shop. Then he worked for John Rouzer Co., a lumber dealer for two years. Reibold Building
The Reibold Building in Dayton, Ohio was the area's tallest building from the time of its completion in 1896 until 1904 (when the first part of the Centre City Building, then known as the United Brethren Building, was completed). The Reibold building was named for the developer, Louis Napoleon Reibold, and housed The Elder & Johnston Department store (now Elder-Beerman) and offices. It was constructed in three phases: the center section in 1896, the South annex in 1904, and the North annex in 1914. Olive Branch High School (New Carlisle, Ohio)
Olive Branch High School was a public high school near New Carlisle, Ohio. History In 1873, a brick structure known as "No. 3" was built to house the Olive Branch School, for grades 4 through 8. In 1878, the Legislature of Ohio passed a law authorizing township Boards of Education to establish a school of higher grade than a common school. A decision was quickly made to create Olive Branch High School, but due to lack of funds, the new school wasn't established until October 1880, when one room of the existing Olive Branch School was put into service for a high school class headed by teacher Robert H. Taylor. Courses taught at the school included Latin, Algebra, Geometry, Science, and others. The first class started with five students, but grew to seven by the time its members graduated from grade 11 in 1883. The Insco Apartments is a historic apartment building in downtown Dayton, Ohio, United States. It was designed by Charles Insco Williams, a native of Dayton, and constructed in 1894. Albert Pretzinger
The Pretzinger name belongs to a family of architects and engineers in Dayton, Ohio. Albert Pretzinger (born February 28, 1863) started the family's architectural legacy. In 1892 he was with Peters, Burns & Pretzinger. He established his own firm Albert Pretzinger Architect by 1906. He was part of Pretzinger & Musselman in 1913 and Pretzinger & Pretzinger in 1928. The firm became Freeman A. Pretzinger Architect in 1941 before switching to Pretzinger and Pretzinger by 1962, and Pretzinger and Pretzinger Architects and Engineers in 1968. In 1980 the firm became Robert B. Pretzinger, Consulting Engineer, changing in 1982 to Pretzinger and Klenke, Inc. Consulting Engineers.
