Charles Hayward Izard
Charles Hayward Izard (19 January 1862 – 18 September 1925) was a Liberal Party Member of Parliament in New Zealand, and a Wellington lawyer. Biography Early life Izard was born in Wellington on 19 January 1862, the eldest son of Charles Beard Izard, who was a prominent and popular Wellington lawyer and MP for . After having primary education in Wellington, Izard was sent to Harrow, England and read for the bar at Lincoln's Inn where he was admitted as a barrister in 1883. On 12 July 1886, Izard married Stella Margaret Halsted at St Paul's Cathedral in Wellington. Professional career Izard returned to New Zealand and practiced with the firm Bell Gully together with his father. He subsequently practised on his own, and later partners included Thomas S. The 1905 New Zealand general election was held on Wednesday, 6 December in the general electorates, and on Wednesday, 20 December in the Māori electorates to elect a total of 80 MPs to the 16th session of the New Zealand Parliament. A total number of 412,702 voters turned out, with 396,657 (83.25% of the electoral roll) voting in the European electorates. Karori Cemetery
Karori Cemetery is New Zealand's second largest cemetery, located in the Wellington suburb of Karori. History Karori Cemetery opened in 1891 to address overcrowding at Bolton Street Cemetery. In 1909, it received New Zealand's first crematorium, which is still in use and is Australasia's oldest. Karori Cemetery reached capacity during the 1950s, and Makara Cemetery became Wellington's main burial ground. Burials at Karori happen only in pre-purchased family plots, in children's plots, and in pre-purchased ash plots.
