Charles Frazer (cricketer)
Charles Ewan Frazer OBE (23 September 1905 – 30 April 1971) was an Australian-born English first-class cricketer. Frazer was born at Sydney, the son of an Australian doctor who took his medical degree at the University of Oxford and then settled at East Grinstead, Sussex. He was educated at Winchester College, before going up to Balliol College, Oxford. While studying at Oxford, he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University against Lancashire at Oxford in 1927. He made two further appearances in first-class cricket for Oxford, with a second match in 1927 against Leicestershire, before playing against Derbyshire in 1928. Frazer also made one first-class appearance for the Free Foresters in 1927 ''against'' Oxford University. He scored a total of 101 run across his four matches, with a high score of 43. Charles Fraser (botanist)
Charles Fraser or Frazer or Frazier (1788 – 22 December 1831) was Colonial Botanist of New South Wales from 1821 to 1831. He collected and catalogued numerous Australian plant species, and participated in a number of exploring expeditions. He was a member of the Stirling expedition of 1827, and his report on the quality of the soil was instrumental in the decision to establish the Swan River Colony. Early life and army career Charles Fraser was born in Blair Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland in 1788. Charles Frazier (born November 4, 1950) is an American novelist. He won the 1997 National Book Award for Fiction for '' Cold Mountain''. Biography Early life Frazier was born in Asheville, North Carolina, grew up in Andrews and Franklin, North Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1973. He earned an M.A. from Appalachian State University in the mid-1970s, and received his Ph.D. in English from the University of South Carolina in 1986. A 1985 published work by Frazier was a trail guide to the Andes and environs for the Sierra Club. Frazier taught English, first at University of Colorado Boulder, then English at North Carolina State University. His wife convinced him to quit in order to work full-time on his novel. Charles Edward Frazer (2 January 1880 – 25 November 1913) was an Australian politician. He served in the House of Representatives from 1903 until his death from pneumonia in 1913, aged 33. He was Postmaster-General in the second Fisher Ministry. Early life Frazer was born on 2 January 1880 at Pelluebla, a rural locality south of Yarrawonga, Victoria. He was named after "Bonnie Prince Charlie", Charles Edward Stuart. He was the youngest of nine children born to Susannah Atkinson and James Frazer. He had three older brothers and four older sisters, with another sister dying as an infant. His mother was born in Melbourne, while his father was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and arrived in Australia in 1852 during the Victorian gold rush. Charley Frazier
Charles Douglas Frazier (August 12, 1939 – August 16, 2022) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for nine seasons in the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Houston Oilers and Boston Patriots from 1962 to 1970. Frazier was an AFL All-Star in 1966. Early life Frazier was born in Houston on August 12, 1939. He attended Marshall High School in nearby Angleton, Texas. He then studied at Texas Southern University, where he starred for the Texas Southern Tigers on its track and field team. He was teammates with future New York Giants receiver Homer Jones. Frazier ran the 100-yard dash in 9.4 seconds and 220 yards in 20.8 seconds.
