Charles Bertrand (politician)
Charles Bertrand (January 11, 1824 – April 2, 1896) was a Quebec businessman, seigneurial system of New France, seigneur and political figure. He represented Témiscouata (federal electoral district), Témiscouata in the 1st Canadian Parliament as a Conservative Party of Canada (historical), Conservative member. He was born Charles-Frédéric Bertrand in L'Isle-Verte, Quebec, L'Isle-Verte, Lower Canada in 1824, the son of Louis Bertrand (Quebec seigneur), Louis Bertrand, who purchased the seigneury of Île-Verte in 1849. He attended the Petit Séminaire de Québec. In 1850, Bertrand married Arthémise Dionne, daughter of Benjamin Dionne, and, that same year, his father gave him control over the seigneury. He owned several mills, a factory producing agricultural implements, a foundry and four schooners. He owned cutting rights for timber and operated a sawmill; he also owned a store in L'Isle-Verte. Charles Bertrand (born February 5, 1991) is a French ice hockey player who is currently playing for ERC Ingolstadt in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) Playing career Bertrand made his professional debut in Finland appearing in the SM-liiga for Lukko Rauman Lukko (Finnish for "lock") is a Finnish sports club based in Rauma, Finland, best known for its men’s professional ice hockey team. The club was founded as Rauma Woodin Lukko in 1936. The representative team currently plays in the Fi ... during the 2010–11 SM-liiga season. Bertrand joined Fribourg Gottéron on November 29, 2018, as their fifth import player on a one-year deal. He dressed up in 21 regular season games with the team, putting up 10 points and failed to help Fribourg make the playoffs. Fribourg released Bertrand at the end of the relegation round.
