Charles A. Murphy
Charles A. "Charley" Murphy (born August 11, 1965) is the former representative of the 21st Middlesex District to the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the Chairman of the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means. Biography Murphy was born in Boston and raised in Burlington, Massachusetts. After graduating from the Burlington school system, Murphy went on to attend Villanova University and Vermont Law School. As a second-year law student at Vermont Law School, Murphy joined the U.S/ Marine Corps, where he served from 1989 to 1994 and rose to the rank of captain. Stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolina, Murphy served a six-month tour as a Staff Judge Advocate for the commanding officer aboard the USS Guadalcanal that deployed to the Mediterranean Sea and Mogadishu, Somalia, as part of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point or MCAS Cherry Point (*) is a United States Marine Corps airfield located in Havelock, North Carolina, United States, in the eastern part of the state. It was built in 1941, and was commissioned in 1942 and is currently home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. History Congress authorized Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point on July 9, 1941, with an initial appropriation of $14,990,000 for construction and clearing of an 8,000 acre (32 km2) tract of swamps, farms and timberland. Actual clearing of the site began on August 6, 1941, with extensive drainage and malaria control work. Construction began in November just 17 days before the attack on Pearl Harbor. Patrick Michael Natale is an American politician who was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Early life and education Natale was born on September 22, 1968, in Woburn to John Natale, the health director for the city of Medford, and Eileen Natale. He was one of five children. Natale attend public school in Woburn before enrolling in the Northeast Metropolitan Regional Vocational High School. He worked as a carpenter for five years before beginning higher education at Middlesex Community College, where he earned Associate degrees in Liberal Arts and Business Administration in 1995. Robert Havern III
Robert A. Havern III (July 17, 1949 – July 19, 2014), was a Massachusetts politician who served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and who represented the Fourth Middlesex District in the Massachusetts State Senate from 1991 to 2007. Biography Havern attended Harvard where he played on the hockey team from 1970 to 1972. Havern served as an Arlington Selectman from 1978 to 1986, and as a State Representative from 1987 to 1991. The Massachusetts Senate is the upper house of the Massachusetts General Court, the bicameral state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Senate comprises 40 elected members from 40 single-member senatorial districts in the state. The Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) was founded in 1985 and closed in 2011. Founded and directed by Al From, prominent members include Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton (who was elected president in 1992 and 1996), Delaware Senator Joe Biden (elected president in 2020), and Tennessee Senator Al Gore (who very narrowly lost the 2000 presidential election). The DLC argued that the United States Democratic Party should shift away from the leftward turn it took in the late 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. Wilmington, Massachusetts
Wilmington is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. Its population was 23,349 at the 2020 United States census. History Wilmington was first settled in 1665 and was officially incorporated in 1730, from parts of Woburn, Reading, and Billerica. The first settlers are believed to have been Will Butter, Richard Harnden or Abraham Jaquith. Butter was brought to Woburn as an indentured captive. Once he attained his freedom, he fled to the opposite side of a large swamp, in what is now Wilmington. Harnden settled in Reading, in an area that is now part of Wilmington. Jaquith settled in an area of Billerica that became part of Wilmington in 1740. Minutemen from Wilmington responded to the alarm on April 19, 1775, and fought at Merriam's Corner in Concord.
