Charl Malan
Charl Christiaan Malan (born 23 February 1989) is a former English cricketer. Malan is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born in Wandsworth in London but was educated at Paarl Boys' High School in South Africa. While studying for his degree at Loughborough University in England, Malan made his first-class cricket debut for Loughborough UCCE against Leicestershire in 2010. He made two further appearances for the team in 2010, against Kent and Hampshire. Hampshire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Hampshire. Hampshire teams formed by earlier organisations, principally the Hambledon Club, always had first-class status and the same applied to the county club when it was founded in 1863. Because of poor performances for several seasons until 1885, Hampshire then lost its status for nine seasons until it was invited into the County Championship in 1895, since when the team have played in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England. The England cricket team represents England and Wales in international cricket. Western Province is the team representing Western Cape province in domestic first-class cricket in South Africa. The team began playing in January 1890 and its main venue has always been Newlands in Cape Town.
