Charity Elliott
Charity Dawn Elliott (née Shira; born November 11, 1969) is an American basketball coach currently serving as the head women's basketball coach at Point Loma Nazarene University. She was the women's basketball team head coach at Loyola Marymount University from 2012 to 2021. She has previously been the women's head basketball coach at Portland State, UC San Diego, and California Baptist. Playing career After attending Fair Grove High School in Fair Grove, Missouri, Elliott began playing college basketball as a guard at Rice University. As a freshman (1987–88), Elliott averaged 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds. The following season, she averaged 16.8 points and 5.7 rebounds. In 1989, Elliott transferred to Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State). After redshirting a year per NCAA transfer rules, Elliott averaged 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in the 1990–91 season. Southwest Baptist University (SBU) is a private Baptist university in Bolivar, Missouri. It is affiliated with the Missouri Baptist Convention, which is part of the Southern Baptist Convention. In 2019, it had a total enrollment of 3,280 students attending at one of SBU's four Missouri campuses in Bolivar, Mountain View, Salem, or Springfield. History Abner S. Ingman and James R. Beth Burns
Mary Elizabeth Burns (born October 7, 1957) is an American basketball coach who is currently the women's basketball associate strength and conditioning coach at the University of Louisville. Previously, Burns was the head coach at San Diego State for 1989 to 1997 and from 2005 to 2013 and at Ohio State from 1997 to 2002. With a 295-186 record at San Diego State, Burns has the most career wins in school history. She guided San Diego State to seven NCAA Tournament appearances and earned five Coach of the Year awards combined from the Western Athletic Conference and Mountain West Conference. 1992 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament
The 1992 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament began on March 18 and ended on April 5. The tournament featured 48 teams. The Final Four consisted of Virginia, Stanford, Southwest Missouri State (now known as Missouri State), and Western Kentucky, with Stanford defeating Western Kentucky 78–62 to win its second NCAA title.
