''Chapter Ahead Being Fake'' is a split album featuring songs from Japanese band Boris and American band Torche. The album was released on August 19, 2009 in Japan through Daymare Records on CD, the same day Boris's split album with 9dw, '' Golden Dance Classics'', was released. This is the first release from Torche as a three-piece band after parting ways with second guitarist Juan Montoya in 2008. A video for Torche's "King Beef" was released on January 5, 2010. ''Chapter Ahead Being Fake'' was released on 10" vinyl in North America through Hydra Head Records on July 13, 2010 with alternative cover art. The American release was intended to be released on the same day as the Japanese release, but Daymare began selling the album without Hydra Head's knowledge. After finding out about the Japanese release, and realizing that Torche's song "King Beef" was already widely available illegally on the internet, Hydra Head was not in a rush to make the physical EP available in the US. ... Torche was an American heavy metal band from Miami, Florida. The group formed in 2004 and has released five full-length studio albums, four EPs, two split albums, and three singles. They released their fifth full-length studio album, ''Admission'', on July 12, 2019. is a Japanese band formed in 1992 in Tokyo and composed of drummer Atsuo, guitarist/bassist Takeshi, and guitarist/keyboardist Wata. All three members contribute vocals. Hydra Head Records was an independent record label that specializes in extreme metal music, founded in New Mexico by Aaron Turner (the frontman of Isis) in 1993. It had another imprint, Hydra Head Noise Industries, which specialized in experimental and noise music. Turner announced he was winding the label down in 2012. In 2020, the label removed its catalog from Spotify and returned its album rights back to several artists. ''Songs for Singles'' is an EP by the American rock band Torche. The album was released on September 21, 2010, through Hydra Head Records. It is the first Torche album, and second release after the split single ''Chapter Ahead Being Fake'', to not feature guitarist Juan Montoya. Writing and recording Torche was originally planning on writing their third full-length album, and follow up to 2008's ''Meanderthal'', but ended up releasing an EP of songs they were working on as ''Songs for Singles'' instead. With little interest in writing another album similar to ''Meanderthal'', they started writing songs that would be more fun to play in a live setting. The group quickly recorded music for about 12 tracks for an album, but struggled to write lyrics and record vocals for the songs. The album was released in Japan on March 16, 2011, on CD through Tearbridge (an imprint of major label Avex) and on double LP through Daymare Recordings, and was released worldwide with a different mix and track list through Sargent House on November 25, 2011.
