Chapman (drink)
Chapman is a non-alcoholic drink, usually red in colour. Often referred to as a non-alcoholic punch, it is traditionally made with a mix of Fanta, Sprite, Cucumber, Lemon, Grenadine and Angostura bitters and is traditionally served in a large mug with ice and a few slices of cucumber. It is often described as Nigeria's favourite drink and though predominantly served without alcohol, it can also be served with a hint of vodka or rum. History It is believed that the cocktail originated at a local bar in Ikoyi Club, Lagos, Nigeria. The drink was created by Samuel Alamutu a bartender at the country club who was asked to make something special for his favourite customer named Chapman. Grenadine
Grenadine is a commonly used nonalcoholic bar syrup characterized by its deep red color. It is a popular cocktail ingredient renowned for its flavor as well as its ability to give a reddish or pink tint to mixed drinks. Grenadine is traditionally made from pomegranate. Angostura Bitters
Angostura bitters () is a concentrated bitters (herbal alcoholic preparation) based on gentian, herbs, and spices, by House of Angostura in Trinidad and Tobago. It is typically used for flavouring beverages or, less often, food. The bitters were first produced in the town of Angostura (now Ciudad Bolívar, Venezuela), hence the name, but do not contain angostura bark. The bottle is recognisable by its distinctive oversized label. ''Angostura'' is Spanish for 'narrowing', the town of Angostura having been at the first narrowing of the Orinoco River. Ikoyi Club
The Ikoyi Club was established as a European club in 1938 in Ikoyi, Lagos. It was originally converted from a prison to a rest house. It occupies approximately 456 acres of land. In the subsequent years, the European Club merged with the Lagos Golf Club. Besides the golf course, Ikoyi Club also has many sports and relaxation amenities which provide first class facilities for members and their families.
