"Chanter pour ceux qui sont loin de chez eux" (English: Sing for those who are far from home) is a 1985 song recorded by French singer-songwriter Michel Berger on his album ''Différences''. It was released as a single one year later. Lââm version In 1998, the song was covered by French singer Lââm and was released in September 1998 as her debut single and the lead single from her album ''Persévérance''. The song was in fact released two years before, in 1996, but passed unnoticed at the time. Lââm promoted the song singing it live in many French TV shows. In ''Tapis rouge'', she cried a lot after her performance. The single became a number-one hit for five weeks in Belgium (Wallonia) and peaked at #2 for ten weeks in France, being unable to dislodge the hit " Belle" by Garou, Patrick Fiori and Daniel Lavoie. Michel Berger (born Michel Jean Hamburger; 28 November 1947 – 2 August 1992) was a French singer and songwriter. He was a leading figure of France's pop music scene for two decades as a singer; as a songwriter, he was active for such artists as his wife France Gall, Françoise Hardy or Johnny Hallyday. He died of a heart attack at age 44. Biography Berger was born as Michel Jean Hamburger on 28 November 1947 in the Parisian suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine, the son of Jewish parents, Dr. Jean Hamburger and Annette Haas, a concert pianist of Swiss-Jewish origin. Kids United was a French singing group between 2015 and 2021 that consisted of six, later five, children born between 2000 and 2009. It was created to support UNICEF campaigns and is sponsored by Hélène Ségara and Corneille , two Francophone singers. The first album ''Un monde meilleur'' (A better world) was launched on Universal Children's Day in 2015, it received gold certification in France.
