''Changing Times'' is the seventh studio album by Australian singer-songwriter, Jon Stevens. The album was released digitally only on 9 September 2011. It was later released on CD as part of a deluxe version of the '' Testify!'' album. The album was announced via a press release on 22 August 2011, where Stevens announced he'd signed with Universal Music Australia Universal Music Australia Pty Ltd. Jon Stevens
Jon Stevens (born 8 October 1961) is a New Zealand singer, best known for his work with Noiseworks and ''Jesus Christ Superstar''. Biography 1980–1986: career beginnings and ''Jezebel'' Stevens was born in Upper Hutt, New Zealand, and is of Scottish and Māori descent. His brother is singer Frankie Stevens. He formed his first band while at Heretaunga College. Stevens released his debut studio album ''Jezebel'' on CBS Records in 1980. It peaked at number 7 on the New Zealand charts and was certified Gold. He moved to Australia in 1981 and subsequently became an Australian citizen. In 1982, a self-titled album was released, but was not successful. In 1983, Stevens formed the band the Change with guitarist Stuart Fraser. The Works is an acoustic studio album by Australian singer-songwriter, Jon Stevens. It was released on the Liberation Blue label in November 2005 and features Stevens performing well known Noiseworks songs as well as tracks from his previous studio album ''Ain't No Life for the Faint Hearted'' and a cover of John Lennon's "Jealous Guy". ''Testify!'' is the eighth studio album by the New Zealand singer-songwriter Jon Stevens. The album was released on 11 November 2011 and is a collection of soul covers and originals. Background and content Stevens was raised in a small town in New Zealand, the youngest of 11 children of a music loving family. He said one of his earliest musical memories "was his mother Millie playing Mahalia Jackson, Staple Singers and other gospel 78s on the family stereo". Stevens said he grew up listening to Blues music, artists that influenced him include: Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Otis Redding, James Brown, Etta James, Little Richard, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Tom Jones, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, and The Kinks.
