Chandrodaya
''Chandrodaya'' is a 1999 Indian Kannada-language romance drama film directed by S. Mahendar. It stars Shiva Rajkumar, Ramesh Aravind and Prema. It is a remake of Mani Ratnam's 1986 Tamil film ''Mouna Ragam''. Plot Cast * Ramesh Aravind as Sunil Kumar * Prema as Divya * Shiva Rajkumar as Shivu (extended Cameo) * Bhavana * Avinash * Vinaya Prasad as a lawyer * Sihi Kahi Chandru * Ramesh Bhat Production Filming took place in Mysore and New Delhi. Four song sequences for the film were shot in Mysore and its vicinity in December 1998. Soundtrack Hamsalekha scored music for the film including its soundtracks in addition to writing its lyrics. The soundtrack album constitutes six tracks. Reception Srikanth Srinivasa, reviewing the film for ''Deccan Herald'', called the film "fairly decent" and wrote, "The film could have been easily trimmed in the dull first half. Mouna Ragam
''Mouna Ragam'' (; ) is a 1986 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film written and directed by Mani Ratnam, and produced by G. Venkateswaran. The film stars Mohan and Revathi, with Karthik (guest appearance), V. K. Ramasamy, Ra. Sankaran, Bhaskar, Kanchana, Vani, Kalaiselvi and Sonia in supporting roles. It narrates the life of Divya (Revathi), a free-spirited college girl who is forced into an arranged marriage with Chandrakumar (Mohan) by her father (Sankaran). Divya, secretly mourning her former lover Manohar (Karthik) who was shot dead, did not want to be married. The story follows Divya's inner conflict between holding onto her past and coming to terms with the present and making a life with Chandrakumar. Vinaya Prasad
Vinaya Prakash ( Bhat), also credited as Vinaya Prasad, is an Indian actress who has primarily featured in Kannada, and Malayalam films and TV series besides acting in Telugu language films. She has won the State Best Actress Award for her performances in '' Aathanka'' (1993) and ''Bannada Hejje'' (2001). Career Vinaya Prasad hails from Udupi district of Karnataka state. Prasad made her film debut with a small role in G. V. Iyer's ''Madhwacharya'' in 1988. Ramesh Chandra ( kn, ರಮೇಶ್ ಚಂದ್ರ) is an Indian playback singer who works predominantly in the Kannada film industry. He is the recipient of Karnataka State Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer twice. Personal life Ramesh Chandra was born as K. Ramesh in Mangalore and raised in Kasargod. He grew up listening to K. J. Yesudas songs on radio. He went to Kalmady Sadashiva Achar for music classes, the only known Carnatic musician in Kasargod at the time. Ramesh married to Chandra Jyothi. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications. It was founded in 1932 as ''The Indian Express'', under the ownership of Chennai-based P. Varadarajulu Naidu.
