Champions Bowl I was the inaugural title game of Champions Indoor Football. It was played on June 20, 2015, at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The one-seed Sioux City Bandits defeated the two-seed Texas Revolution by a score of 76–61 to earn the Champions Cup. Road to the Champions Bowl The four teams (ordered by seeding) that made the postseason were the Sioux City Bandits, Texas Revolution, Wichita Force, and Amarillo Venom. On Thursday, June 11, Texas defeated Wichita 39–27. Two days later, Sioux City beat Amarillo 83–52. This pitted Texas against Sioux City in Champions Bowl I on June 20 in Iowa. Tyson Events Center
The Fleet Farm Arena, formerly Gateway Arena, is a multi-purpose arena inside Tyson Events Center, located in Sioux City, Iowa and sponsored by Tyson Foods and Fleet Farm. The arena is commonly referred to as Tyson Events Center for marketing purposes. The arena has three spectator levels: one suite level and two general seating levels named the 100 level and the 200 level, respectively. Its official maximum capacity is 10,000. Owned by the City of Sioux City, it is located on the riverfront overlooking the Missouri River. The venue was operated by the city as well until January 2018 when the city contracted with Philadelphia-based venue management firm Spectra to handle matters such as booking, marketing, staffing and food and beverage service. Champions Bowl
The Sugar Bowl is an annual American college football bowl game played in New Orleans, Louisiana. Played annually since January 1, 1935, it is tied with the Orange Bowl and Sun Bowl as the second-oldest bowl games in the country, surpassed only by the Rose Bowl Game. The Sugar Bowl was originally played at Tulane Stadium before moving to the Superdome in 1975. When the Superdome and the rest of the city suffered damage due to both the winds from and the flooding in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Sugar Bowl was temporarily moved to the Georgia Dome in Atlanta in 2006. Allen is a city in Collin County in the U.S. state of Texas, and a northern suburb of Dallas. According to the 2020 U.S. census its population was 104,627, up from 84,246 in 2010. Texas Revolution (indoor Football)
The Texas Revolution were an American professional indoor football team and a founding member of Champions Indoor Football (CIF). The Revolution were based in Allen and Frisco, Texas, within the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Founded in 2000 as the Arkansas Twisters, the Little Rock-based team played 10 seasons in af2 before that league folded. The team jumped to the Indoor Football League as the Arkansas Diamonds for the 2010 season. Remaining in the IFL, the team moved to Texas to become the Allen Wranglers for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. In 2012, former NFL standout and future hall of famer Terrell Owens played eight games for the Wranglers before being cut in late May. In 2012, the Wranglers franchise was transferred to a new ownership group and the team was renamed the Texas Revolution for the 2013 season. Sioux City Bandits
The Sioux City Bandits are a professional indoor football team based in Sioux City, Iowa, and compete as a member of Champions Indoor Football (CIF). The team was founded in 1999 as the Sioux City Attack. In 2001, the team assumed their current name of the Bandits. The Bandits joined the CIF as result of a merger in 2014. The Bandits play their home games at the Tyson Events Center. History In 2000, the Sioux City Attack joined the original Indoor Football League. After this season concluded, the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League bought out all but two of the league's teams.
