Champion Ballroom Academy
The Champion Ballroom Academy (founded April 1990) is a dance studio in San Diego, California. The studio's main specialties are social partner-dancing, competitive ballroom dance (aka. Dancesport) and the Latin-dance-based aerobic program called Core Rhythms. The studio is also known for hosting weekly social dances open to the public, along with other monthly events hosted by local dance and social organizations. Since founder Mary Murphy's casting as a judge of the Fox TV series ''So You Think You Can Dance'', Usmagazine.com SYTYCD News the studio has expanded its repertoire to include guest instructors of other dance styles, including hip hop, flamenco, and contemporary dance. Benji Schwimmer
Benjimen Daniel Schwimmer (born January 18, 1984) is an American professional dancer, choreographer, actor and director. He was the winner of the second season of ''So You Think You Can Dance'' (2006) and has choreographed for both the U.S. and the international versions of the show. He is the only dancer in the world to hold World titles in solo, partner and group divisions at the same time. Schwimmer works on TV, film and stage both in front and behind camera. Biography Michael Mead, born in Croydon, England, spent his early years traveling with his family and attending schools overseas. At 18, done with school and unsure of what he wished to do professionally, Michael decided to try his hand at accounting. After quickly establishing that perhaps the last thing he wished was to spend the rest of his life auditing, Michael enrolled in a teacher training class at a local dance studio, and was offered a job after only six months of dance training.
