Champai Soren
Champai Soren is an Indian politician currently serving as the 7th Chief Minister of Jharkhand since 2 February 2024 after the arrest of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on charges of money laundering. He is a member of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and represents Seraikella assembly constituency as MLA. Previously he was serving as the Cabinet Minister of Transport, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Caste & Backward class welfare in the cabinet of 2nd Hemant Soren ministry. Chief Minister Of Jharkhand
The Chief Minister of Jharkhand is the chief executive of the Indian state of Jharkhand. In accordance with the Constitution of India, the governor is a state's ''de jure'' head, but ''de facto'' executive authority rests with the chief minister. Following elections to the legislative assembly, the state's governor usually invites the party (or coalition) with a majority of seats to form the government. The governor appoints the chief minister, whose council of ministers are collectively responsible to the assembly. 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly Election ...
Legislative Assembly elections were held in March 1995, to elect the 324 members of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. Janata Dal got a decisive victory in the state; political manoeuvre ensured Lalu Prasad Yadav's victory in the chief ministership. According to political scientist Sanjay Kumar, this election set a different trend in caste based politics of the state of Bihar, as in this election, there were two main political blocs in the state contesting for power.
