Martin's Light Railways (MLR) consisted of seven narrow-gauge railway lines in the states of West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in India. Tarakeshwar is a panchayat samiti (community development block) in Chandannagore subdivision of Hooghly district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Overview The CD block is part of the Hooghly-Damodar Plain, one of the district's three natural regions of flat alluvial plains which form part of the Ganges Delta. It has many depressions which receive water from tributaries of the surrounding lands during the rainy season and discharge it in smaller channels. Tarakeshwar is bordered by Dhaniakhali CD block on the north, Haripal CD block on the east, Jangipara CD block on the south, and Pursurah CD block on the west. Chandannagore subdivision is an administrative subdivision of the Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. Hooghly District
Hooghly district () is one of the districts of the Indian state of West Bengal. It can alternatively be spelt ''Hoogli'' or ''Hugli''. The district is named after the Hooghly River. The headquarters of the district are at Hooghly-Chinsura (''Chuchura''). There are four subdivisions: Chinsurah Sadar, Srirampore, Chandannagore, and Arambagh. Antpur
Antpur is a village in the Jangipara community development block of the Srirampore subdivision in the Hooghly District in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is around 20 km from Tarakeswar. Haripal is nearest railway station from Antpur. History The most famous temple in Antpur is that of Radhagovindjiu with exquisite terracotta carvings depicting stories from all the 18 puranas. This 100 feet high temple was constructed by Krishna Ram Mitra, the Diwan of Bardhaman Raj in 1786 (1708 Shakabda). Its ''Chandi Mandap'' and ''Dol Mancha'' have beautifully crafted wood carvings and terracotta. The period when the temple was built was curious. 2011 Census Of India
The 2011 Census of India or the 15th Indian Census was conducted in two phases, house listing and population enumeration. The House listing phase began on 1 April 2010 and involved the collection of information about all buildings.
