Chamankot is a village in Dhirkot tehsil, Bagh District, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. It is situated up the hills from Kohala on the Azad Kashmir Bagh Road. Its altitude is , and the Jhelum River is at the bottom end of its sub-village, Malalbagla. Chamankot has orchards of apples, apricots, and nuts. It has a large supply of natural spring water that serves as a source of drinking water for adjacent villages. History Chamankot possesses some historical value because the ancestors of the Abbasi & Hashmi Qureshi family present in this region first came to this village after their long migration from Iraq in the late 16th century. Bagh District
Bagh District ( ur, ) is one of the ten districts of Pakistan's territory of Azad Kashmir. Previously part of Poonch District, it was established as a separate district in 1988. The Bagh District is bounded on the north by the Muzaffarabad District, the Hattian Bala District, and the Baramulla District of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, on the east by the Haveli District, on the south by the Poonch District, and on the west by the Rawalpindi District of Pakistan's Punjab Province. The total area of the district is 770 square kilometers. The Bagh District is linked to the Muzaffarabad District by two roads, one via Sudhan Gali (80 km) and the other via Kohala (97 km). The district headquarters is the city of Bagh, which is situated 46 km from Rawalakot. Kohala ( ur, ) is a town in Pakistan on the River Jhelum, north of Murree, south of Muzaffarabad, and east of Bagh. The Dhund Abbasi is a Punjabi tribe in Pakistan. Its members are mainly found in parts of Punjab province, and the region of Azad Kashmir.
