Challenger (character)
The Challenger is the name of different fictional characters appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The William Waring version of Challenger appeared beginning with the company's 1940s iteration as Timely Comics during the period fans and historians call the Golden Age of Comic Books. Publication history The Challenger was a weapons master, who challenged opponents to fight using a weapon of their choice. He was inspired by the death of his father, who was killed by underworld criminals, to travel around the world and become an expert wielding 1,000 different weapons. This includes chemistry, "nerve control", and flying a plane. Comics historian Jim Steranko called this "one of the weakest stories ever told". Ben Challenger
Benjamin Arthur Challenger (born 7 March 1978) is a retired English high jumper. His personal best jump of 2.30 metres was achieved when he won the 1999 Summer Universiade. His career highlight is a silver medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. Born in Loughborough, Leicestershire, Challenger attended Shepshed High School and later he studied sports science at Loughborough University (a course he later abandoned in favour of full-time high jump training). As a youth he considered a career in basketball, and toured the US with the Leicester Riders, leading to offers from NBA talent scouts acting for US universities, which he turned down. Romeo Challenger
Romeo Alexander Challenger (born 19 May 1950) is an English musician who has been the drummer for the rock band Showaddywaddy since 1973 and seminal Progressive Rock band Black Widow. Biography Challenger was born 19 May 1950 in St. John's, Antigua, British Leeward Islands. In 1955, he moved with his family to England. He began playing the drums as a teenager in the mid-1960s. He played in several groups, including progressive rock/hard rock band Black Widow in the early 1970s. In 1973, he became one of two drummers (The other being Malcolm Allured) for the rock and roll band Showaddywaddy. Showaddywaddy had ten singles reach the top ten of the UK Singles Chart, including the 1976 number-one "Under the Moon of Love". Challenger played in the Leicester Boys' football team with Peter Shilton and Jeff Blockley, who both went on to enjoy professional careers. Recover (band)
Recover is an American rock band from Austin, Texas. History Recover is a post-hardcore band composed of Dan Keyes (guitar/vocals), Robert Mann (guitar/vocals), Ross Tweedy (bass), and Santiago "Jimmy" Vela III (drums). The band recorded a four-song demo in the spring of 2000. The demo found its way to Fueled by Ramen Records via the band's friends in fellow Austin band The Impossibles. The band later released their debut album, ''Rodeo & Picasso'', in the summer of 2001. The band toured extensively in support of the album, and in 2002, released a follow-up EP on Fiddler Records, ''Ceci n'est pas recover''. ''Challenger'' is the third studio album by American metalcore band Memphis May Fire. The album was released June 26, 2012 via Rise Records. The band released the first single, "Prove Me Right," on May 24. They also released the 5th track on the album, "Vices," on June 13 as the second single from the album.
