Chalciporus Cervinococcineus
''Chalciporus'' is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae (suborder Boletineae). There are approximately 25 species in the genus. French mycologist Frédéric Bataille erected the genus in 1908, though it did not gain general acceptance for several decades and was often classified as a section (''Piperati'') of the genus '' Suillus'' or related to the genus ''Pulveroboletus''. The type species is '' Chalciporus piperatus''. Rolf Singer resurrected the genus in 1973, separating the species from the genus ''Suillus'' on the basis of distinct pigments. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek ''khalkos'' "copper", and translates as "copper pores". The genus ''Chalciporus'', together with the genus '' Buchwaldoboletus'' form a group of fungi that is an early offshoot in the Boletaceae. Many members of the group appear to be parasitic. Wu and Yang proposed that this clade be called the subfamily Chalciporoideae. The genus ''Rubinoboletus'' was merged into this genus based on th ...

Chalciporus Piperatus
''Chalciporus piperatus'', commonly known as the peppery bolete, is a small pored mushroom of the family Boletaceae found in mixed woodland in Europe and North America. It has been recorded under introduced trees in Brazil, and has become naturalised in Tasmania and spread under native ''Nothofagus cunninghamii'' trees. A small bolete, the fruit body has a orange-fawn cap with cinnamon to brown pores underneath, and a high by thick stipe. The flesh has a very peppery taste. The rare variety ''hypochryseus'', found only in Europe, has yellow pores and tubes. Described by Pierre Bulliard in 1790 as ''Boletus piperatus'', it is only distantly related to other members of the genus ''Boletus'' and was reclassified as ''Chalciporus piperatus'' by Frédéric Bataille in 1908. The genus ''Chalciporus'' was an early branching lineage in the Boletaceae and appears to be related to boletes with parasitic properties. Previously thought to be ectomycorrhizal (a symbiotic relationshi ...

Chalciporus Radiatus
''Chalciporus radiatus'' is a bolete fungus of the family Boletaceae. Found in southern China, it was described as new to science in 2015 by Ming Zhang and Tai-Hui Li. The specific epithet ''radiatus'' refers to the distinct radial arrangement of the hymenophore. Description Fruit bodies have grayish-yellow to brownish-orange caps measuring in diameter. The pore surface on the cap underside is initially orange to red, later becoming brownish in age. Pores are small, measuring 1–2 mm in diameter. Spores are fusiform (tapered at both ends) to cylindrical with smooth walls, measuring 7–8 by 3.5–4 μm. Habitat and distribution Fruit bodies are found singly or scattered under '' Cunninghamia lanceolata'', and species of ''Cyclobalanopsis'' and '' Castanopsis''. The type collection was made in Jiulongjiang National Forest Park in Chenzhou, Hunan Province; it has also been collected in Guangdong Guangdong (, ), alternatively romanized as Canton or Kwangtun ...
