Chakthip Chaijinda
Chakthip Chaijinda (; born 19 October 1959) is a former Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police from 2015 to 2020. Educations Chakthip graduated from Vajiravudh College, and then he graduated from Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School in Class 20, same class with current King Vajiralongkorn man, Apirat Kongsompong. After graduated from AFAPS he studied at the Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy and an additional investigation course in international post-blast investigations at the International Law Enforcement Academy of Bangkok (ATF-ILEA), and then took courses at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He passed the Counter Assault Team course of the United States Secret Service. He attended the anti-terror course of the Naresuan 261 Counter-Terrorism Unit and Arintharat 26. The Royal Thai Police (RTP) ( th, สำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ; ) is the national police force of Thailand. The RTP employs between 210,700 and 230,000 officers, roughly 17 percent of all civil servants (excluding the military and the employees of state-owned enterprises). The RTP is frequently recognized as the fourth armed force of Thailand since their tradition, concept, culture, skill, and training are relatively similar to the army and most of their officer cadets need to graduate from the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School before entering the Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy. Nakhon Ratchasima Shootings
A mass shooting occurred near and in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, colloquially known as Korat, between 8 and 9 February 2020. A soldier of the Royal Thai Army killed 29 people and wounded 58 others before he was eventually shot and killed. The attack began when the perpetrator shot and killed his commanding officer and two others at Suratham Phithak Military Camp (), the base where he was stationed. The perpetrator then stole military weapons and a Humvee and drove to the Terminal 21 Korat shopping mall, which had a large number of shoppers due to the public holiday Magha Puja, where he opened fire on shoppers. On the way, he also fired at several people on the road and at Wat Pa Sattha Ruam, a Buddhist temple.
