Chakravarthi Thirumagal
''Chakravarthi Thirumagal'' () is a 1957 Indian Tamil language film starring M. G. Ramachandran, Anjali Devi and S. Varalakshmi. The film, directed by P. Neelakantan, had musical score by G. Ramanathan and was released on 18 January 1957. It was a box office success. Plot Prince Udayasuriyan wins a tough competition to marry Princess Kalamani. Durga and Bhairavan plot to ruin their lives. Durga plans to take the queen's place in order to live with Udayasuriyan. Meanwhile, Bhairavan abducts Kalamani from the palace. The rest of the film deals with Udayasduriyan foiling his enemies' plan in order to save the princess. Cast Soundtrack The music was composed by G. Ramanathan. Lyrics were by Thanjai N. Anjali Devi
Anjali Devi (; 24 August 1927 – 13 January 2014) was an Indian actress, model and producer in Telugu and Tamil films. She was well known for her role as the Devi Sita in ''Lava Kusa'' as well as for the titular roles in movies like Chenchu Lakshmi, '' Suvarna Sundari'' and '' Anarkali''. Early life Anjali Devi was born in Peddapuram, East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, India, as Anjamma. She changed her name to Anjani Kumari when acting in dramas. Later, director C. Pattukkottai Kalyanasundaram (13 April 1930 – 8 October 1959) also known as Pattukottaiyar was an Indian Tamil poet and lyricist. Considered to be the most popular Tamil lyricist of the 1950s, he is particularly remembered for the philosophy-tinged lyrics he penned for M. G. Ramachandran’s movies. Early life He was born on 13 April 1930 in an agricultural family at Sengapaduthankadu in Thamarankottai village, a village near the town of Pattukkottai. Sirkazhi Govindarajan (19 January 1933 – 24 March 1988) was an Indian Tamil Carnatic vocalist and a leading playback singer of Indian cinema. Early life Govindarajan, was born on 19 January 1933 at Sirkazhi (a small town in present day Mayiladuthurai district, Tamil Nadu; famed birthplace of Sambandar, one of the 63 Nayanars of the Saiva faith) to Siva Chidambaram and Avayambal Ammal. Pillavalu Gajapathy Krishnaveni (3 November 1935 – 16 August 2004), more famously known as Jikki, was an Indian playback singer from Andhra Pradesh. She sang around 10,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and Sinhalese languages. Early life Jikki was born in Chennai on 3 November 1935. Her parents Gajapathi Naidu and Rajakanthamma, a Telugu family, had moved from Chandragiri, near Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh to Chennai for their livelihood.
